about

I grew up on about two acres in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. Though our neighbors were close by, not one could be seen from our house. At that time, Issaquah was quite rural and undeveloped. Over the years, we had chickens, bunnies, cats, dogs, fish and my dad kept honey bees. My parents spent nearly every weekend outside caring for the property whether it be mowing the lawn, chopping firewood, weeding, doing projects or tending garden and flower beds. I grew up living outside.

Now that I've been married for over twenty years, I realize we've always lived in suburban neighborhoods. We've talked for sometime about a more rural lifestyle and moved in 2013 to a shy acre with a shed, micro-barn and horse pastures. My dream of having a large flower garden (and some veggies) is coming true! This blog documents the transformation of the existing horse pasture into my new garden space!

I'm Michelle, homeschool mom, crazy for flowers and my Handsome Hubs.
